Spring Bear Hunt & Fishing Trip
Burdick's Lodge is now accepting Spring 2008 bookings for their Canadian Black Bear Hunt / Fishing Trip. I have been taking friends and local hunters to Quebec Canada for nine years. This bear hunt is very reasonable in price and very high in success! 2005 I took 9 hunters with me to Quebec and enjoyed 100% success — 9 for 9! 2006 yielded 7 bear out of 8 hunters. (Photo at right: Camp for Larger Groups—"Camp Castor")This outfitting service is operated by the Canadian Government, and is on Federal lands, only open to hunters who have reserved their hunt with us. These Federal lands are open to a very limited amount of bear hunters (approx. 30 hunters per year). There is a very high concentration of black bear and the hunt is offered to control the population in the Federal Reserve. The area that is hunted is approx. 300 sq. miles of gorgeous Wild Canadian Wilderness (NO FENCES) with many dirt access roads leading to remote lakes, camps and baited stands. There are approx. 75 tree stands on the Reserve all easily accessed by vehicle. The stands are spacious and easy to climb—nearly all have roofs to keep you dry during inclement weather.
Year in and year out we have been near 100% in kills, some years we did not fill all tags due to misses, mistakes, and just bad luck on the hunters' part. In 2001 I took 12 hunters and we killed 10 bears including two very large bruins. One hunter had the bad luck and did not see a bear, and the other hunter missed three times with a long bow. The price of $1,649.00 USD includes: modern camp, guide, baited stands, bear license, fishing license, boat, motor, gas, and all taxes. Not included: food and travel expenses and firearm importation fees of $25.00 CND per rifle (payable at the border). I will take care of all booking arrangements complete with itinerary, maps, contacts, paperwork, etc.
